Winter 2008 ski season - snowdrifter trips (see snow reports for conditions)

Now that weather is hot outside and summer activities are in full mode its time to start thinking about our ski club trips. Join us at our ski meetings and get all the latest updates on the ski trips for this winter season. Remember that we are now meeting on the 3rd.Monday of the month during the summer at 8:00pm. All trips will be going on sale during the August meeting. Attend the ski meeting, get information on the trips, and enjoy the social atmosphere of McNally’s Pub with your fellow Snowdrifters. We have two great motorcoach trips scheduled for the 2008 SKI SEASON! All who have been on our past bus trips know that they are a great way to take advantage of Mid-West skiing, have fun with friends, meet new people, and leave the trip planning, driving, and the cost of gasoline to someone else.

Park City, Utah: Sunday - January 27, 2008 – Sunday - February 3, 2008 Price: $1075.00 or $875 (without Lift Tickets)

Park City, site of the 2002 Winter Olympic games, is an unbelievable place, and just happens to be home of the "Greatest Snow on Earth", with over 350 inches of snow per year. We will ski two days at the Park City Mountain Resort, one day in Deer Valley and two days at the Canyons. Park City has over 3300 acres of skiable terrain with an additional 3500 acres at "The Canyons", and 1100 acres at Deer Valley Resort; giving you three ski areas with over 7000 acre to ski. We will be staying in the Park Station Condominium/Hotel in 2 bedroom/2 bath condos on Main St. in downtown Park City. The condos are located near the town lift/bridge which means no long walks to the lifts, and it's only a short free bus ride to nearby Deer Valley or "The Canyons" ski areas.

What happens when the sun goes down in Park City? Well, if the hot tubs and sauna are not inviting enough after a day of skiing, then head on out and explore the town of Park City with its unique charm that's been carried down from its flamboyant mining town days. You'll find over 100 shops, 80 restaurants, and a dozen bars and clubs. In fact, Park City's nightlife is consistently rated among the top resorts in the country.

We will fly non-stop on Sunday, 1/27/08 at 11:25am from Chicago to Salt Lake and return to Chicago on Sunday, 2/3/08 arriving at 6:40pm.

Winter Park, Colorado: February 20 - 24, 2008 Price: $740

INCLUDES:

Ski one of Colorado's oldest and most skier friendly areas, Winter Park/Mary Jane. Enjoy the 369 annual inches of Colorado "Champaign Powder" snow, some of the most consistent snow in Colorado year after year! Discover 5 mountains, 3,676 vertical feet, 134 trails, 22 lifts and 2,886 acres of skiing which is rated 60% Intermediate or Beginner. Three full-day lift tickets are included.

While in Winter Park we will be staying at the Vintage Resort and Conference Center located only 1/3 mile from Winter Park’s Zephyr Express lift. The hotel offers lockers for your equipment, all very convenient to the shuttle stop outside the back of the building (which runs in the AM and PM to the base of the ski slopes). It’s rooms offer spectacular views of the majestic Rocky Mountains, and lush, pine-covered mountain sides, The hotel has a pool, hot tub, sauna, on-site ski shop, game room, and is home to the only Microbrewery in the valley, Moffat Station Brewery & Restaurant, serving breakfast, and dinner daily.

We will fly non-stop on Wednesday, 2/20/08 at 5:45pm from Chicago to Denver and return to Chicago on Sunday, 2/3/08 arriving at 6:52pm.

Granite Peak (Rib Mountain) Feb 29- Mar 2, 2008 Price: $250

INCLUDES:

We will depart late Friday afternoon by luxury motor coach to ski Granite Peak Mountain. We will stay 2 nights in Wausau at the very nice Stone Creek Inn with a heated pool, whirlpool sauna, and on-site lounge. Saturday and Sunday we will ski Granite Peak and arrive back home early Sunday evening. Lift tickets not included.

Banff, Alberta Canada March 8 – March 15, 2008 Price: $1190

While in Banff, we will be staying 7 nights at Ptarmigan Inn which combines rustic charm and casual elegance with a warm welcome. The Ptarmigan Inn is the perfect headquarters with a fantastic central location on Banff Avenue, just a minute’s walk to the downtown shops and restaurants.
