At 7:00 PM on Friday, November 16, 2007, twelve very thirsty and hungry Snowdrifters traveled “down under” to The Wine Seller (227 S. 3rd Street, Geneva, IL) for the club’s annual wine tasting party.

With eager palates waiting, proprietor Bob Kovacs led these adventurous twelve “down under” into the Southern Hemisphere regions of The Wine Seller. Beginning with Turkey Flat Vyds (“The Turk”) wine of Barossa Valley, Australia, Bob indulged the party with unwooded Chardonnay from Southern Australia, Shiraz from Western Australia, Capaia wine from South Africa, Malbec from Argentina, and Carmenere from Rapel Valley, Chile. Before finishing with a delightful Brut Tache from Victoria & Tasmania, Australia, Bob presented a Pedro Ximenez from (once again) the Barossa Valley of Australia.

As always, Bob mesmerized those present with his superb wit and knowledge, showing one and all that he is a true artist and connoisseur of his craft.

To be sure, all of the twelve adventurous Snowdrifters returned to the world above feeling quite satisfied and wonderfully entertained.

All in all, the evening was another resounding success.

Gidday mates!
